Gang Culture

Overview

This course is designed to provide education & social care professionals with a practical understanding of contemporary gang culture and in particular the glamorised version portrayed to, and accepted by many young people. The course’s focus is to educate as well as provide effective counter arguments and brief interventions that can be used with young people.

Professionals working in education and social care staff (including Youth Justice, Social Workers, Early Intervention).

On conclusion of the course, participants will Have a more informed understanding of youth violence and gang culture with an emphasis on practical and effective interventions, increased awareness around the issues and challenges young people face, plus increased confidence to engage and positively address these issues.
