Jacqui has worked within social care sector for over 30 years and as a Social Worker in the children and families sector for over 20 years. Jacqui has experience within the education as well as the social care sector and has been a community school governor for over 12 years and worked as a Designated Safeguarding Lead and Senior Leader in an alternative provision school, bridging the gap between education and social care, an area she is very passionate about.
Jacqui has contributed to various publications and innovative projects. Jacqui sits on fostering panels including the Independent Review Mechanism panel and she is a member of the stakeholders panel for the What Works Centre for Children’s Social Care and bridging the gap of research and evidenced based practice.
Jacqui brings her experience as a manager, Trainer & Consultant and her specialism of fostering and adoption to In-Trac. In addition to her work with In-Trac Jacqui has delivered training and spoken at conferences for other organisations including Local Authorities across England and BAAF/CoramBAAF.
Jacqui is flexible and creative in her approach to delivering and designing training. For over 30 years Jacqui has been an active voice on raising awareness on the experiences of black people, black practitioners and most importantly how the needs of black children are met. Therefore, one of Jacqui’s training specialism is diversity and meeting the placement needs of Black Children. Jacqui has adapted parenting programmes to meet the needs of foster carers and adopters and she also specialises in supporting teams to manage restructures, prepare for inspections and audits. She has also run parenting and support groups for foster carers, adopters, social work practitioners, social care staff, fostered and adopted children.
Jacqui has regularly delivered multi, interagency and specialist training. Jacqui regularly delivers Undertaking Assessments, Life Story Work, Panel Training, Diversity Training, Black Lives Matter workshops, foster carer and adopters training.
