By the end of the course delegates will be able to:-
- To demonstrate working knowledge of the Care Act and ‘whole family’ approach
- To initiate and to plan the ‘first contact’, taking into account the person’s needs and wishes
- To be aware of and respect the difference of experience that may be expressed by people during the assessment process
- To demonstrate the skills of collecting, analysing and recording available information in an assessment of needs and when determining eligibility
- To critically reflect on our own practice and approaches
- To link fact with evidence and clearly distinguish between fact and professional opinion when recording during an assessment of needs and when determining eligibility
