Participants will have been offered the opportunity to:
• Review the knowledge and skills acquired on the level 1 course.
• Describe the benefits of using alternative and augmented communication tools, including the Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS).
• Practise writing a Social Story and understand the use of Comics Strips to support understanding of social interaction.
• Explore and understand some recognised approaches to working with autistic children and adults, including:
o The TEACCH Approach o Intensive Interaction
o The National Autistic Society’s SPELL framework.
