By the end of the course, participants will have:

• Identified why disabled children and young people are more vulnerable to harm
• Considered some of the different ways disabled children and young people might communicate and the implications of this for keeping them safe
• Illustrated what gets in the way of professionals communicating and sharing concerns
• Challenged some of the myths/obstacles that prevent effective inter-agency communication
• Begun to identify good practice in safeguarding disabled children and young people
