Gemma Hunt is a senior lecturer and trainer with 12+ years experience of working within the children and families sector. Her professional background is in statutory social work with children and families, and she has worked extensively in duty and assessment, youth justice, child protection and PLO/court work. Gemma is a NAAS Accredited Children and Families Practitioner and an experienced Practice Educator and Assessor.
Gemma has been instrumental in the development of Newly Qualified Social Workers (NQSWs) and Practice Educators in training. She has worked closely with workforce development where she was responsible for overseeing the delivery of projects such as Step Up to Social Work and the Social Work Apprenticeship Degree.
In recent years Gemma has been involved in the design and delivery of social work programmes and has undertaken the role of Course Director. Gemma is a popular academic and ensures her teaching and training is research informed. She is in the final stages of completing her doctorate and her research interests remain within the field of child protection.
Gemma is registered with Social Work England.
