Louise Doherty has worked for the NHS for 40 years. As a midwife she developed a passion for working and engaging with vulnerable families, which led her to training as a health visitor. She subsequently developed her experience over the last 25 years having held numerous senior safeguarding roles both within NHS Provider Services and Clinical Commissioning Groups/Integrated Care Systems.
She is a collaborative worker who strives for excellence and is passionate about supporting practitioners through supervision to manage the complexities when working in safeguarding. Louise continues to work part time in the NHS which gives her the unique opportunity to share her considerable experience within the training courses.
Louise is an effective communicator and trainer, working at different levels within a variety of organisations. She has extensive experience of development and implementation of Safeguarding Policies. She has extensive experience of the review process following serious incidents in safeguarding and currently chairs Rapid Reviews for a Local Safeguarding Children’s partnership.
